Meet The Dreamers

Nicola Oddy

Hi everyone! I’m Nicola Oddy. I’ve been around the music therapy scene in Canada since 1985. I’m definitely the elder in this incredibly talented and committed team! Doing this symposium is a passion project for me. It’s been such a pleasure - from idea to inception and I can’t wait to welcome you all to Perth next October!

Alexa Monroe Choquette

Hi Everyone, my name is Alexa Munroe Choquette BMus, CMT, MACP, MTA, RP(Qualifying) and I am a practicing music therapist in the Ottawa area and virtually across Canada. I am so happy to be supporting this symposium through many different roles, and I am looking forward to all the wonderful presentations and workshops to come.

Shannon Deavy

Hi everyone, my name is Shannon Deavy. I have been working in music therapy - first as an intern, and later developing my own private practice, here in Perth for 10 years now. I love being part of this vibrant small town, and look forward to welcoming you here in October. In my role as local organizer for the symposium, I am blending my passion for nurturing both individuals and the communities I belong to. Let’s make some magic happen!

Rebecca Worden

Hi Everyone! I’m Rebecca Worden, RP, MTA, FAMI Certified Music Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist, and a Guided Imagery and Music Fellow. I currently work in community mental health and have a private practice here in Perth. This Symposium is a dream come true – to curate and host an experience that will enrich the lives and practice of others!

Becky Kurtz

Hello everyone!  My name is Becky Kurz and I have been in private practice in Ottawa for over 20 years.  I am excited to join the enthusiastic symposium team!  I am looking forward to the hands-on experience that the Inspiration Symposium is highlighting, so as to bring different ideas and techniques towards my own practice.

Kelly-Anne Vander Meer

I am a multi-passionate mental health professional: a certified music therapist (since 2013), crisis counsellor, and meditation instructor. Lately, I’ve felt a pull to rekindle the passion that started it all – music therapy. The Inspiration Symposium is a way of reconnecting with our amazing music therapy community and re-igniting music therapy in practice. It’s an honour to contribute to this very special event.

Elizabeth Francoeur

Hi Everyone! I’m Elizabeth Francoeur, Certified Music Therapist, as well as a School and Clinical Psychological Services provider. I currently work in private practice in Orléans, near Ottawa, practicing both psychology and music therapy, serving mostly the francophone population. This Symposium is a unique event as the sessions will be primarily experiential; this will surely inform and inspire other clinicians’ practices.

Kimberly Dolan

Hi everyone, I’m Kimberly Dolan, a Certified Music Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and Holistic Wellness Advocate based in Kingston, Ontario. I am one of the co-founders of Synergy Music Therapy & Wellness Services and I work with folks from all walks of life. I am thrilled and grateful to be part of curating this incredible symposium and I’m looking forward to connecting with you all and finding some inspiration together this October!

Grace Davidson

Hey everyone, it’s Grace! Happy Music Therapy Month! This year marks my fifth year practicing music therapy in my home town of Ottawa, Ontario. I’ve had the pleasure of creating the symposium posts you’ve been seeing on Instagram and Facebook, and I’ve gotta say… it’s been a lot of fun! I’m so happy to be part of this hardworking team, and even happier to bring the excitement to life for the Inspiration Symposium coming in October.

Rachel Ntambwe

Hi everyone! I’m Rachel Ntambwe - a Certified Music Therapist from Ottawa. I began my career in this rewarding profession over 20 years ago. I love working with clients, colleagues, students, interns, and fellow MTA’s. Being part of the planning team for the Inspiration Symposium is very exciting. We can’t wait to welcome you to Perth, Ontario this October to learn, grow, and be inspired. See you then!

Danielle Nicholls

Hello! My name is Danielle Nicholls, and I’m a certified music therapist living and working in Guelph. I started my career 10 years ago in Ottawa, where I connected with many of the folks putting this Symposium together. When I heard about the event, I couldn’t pass up a chance to work with these amazing people again, and offered to support the event as best I can from afar! I’m excited to be a part of this team and to bring their dream to life.
